Spring Is Just Around The Corner, Mid May in Alaska
There’s a joke they tell in Alaska… “June, July, August = Spring, Summer, Fall”. Though it’s less of a joke and more of a statement of fact. They get 4 distinct seasons in Alaska, but the winter is veeeeeeeery long.
As the above photo can attest, mid May is clearly winter still. Though the rivers were beginning to thaw, and more animals were on the move, the land itself was still heavily blanketed in deep snow.
In other words May in Alaska looks like most places February…
