Sunset Ano Nuevo State Park, CA
With its rugged coastline and stormy seas, winter in San Mateo County can be a spectacular sight! As the large waves struck the sea stacks, gulls called and swooped overhead. I wanted to capture both the movement in the water and the gulls soaring thru the sky. I combined a few shots together in order to do so. A fast shutter froze the motion of the gulls so they are clear and visible, while a slow 3 second exposure revealed the turbulent movement of the wave crashing and receding.
