Sunset, Calais, VT

Being in the right place at the right time is never as important as with landscape photography. This small town in Vermont -Calais- is fairly far from where I usually stayed. But a friend so happened to live nearby, and so happened to need a house sitter / dog sitter. I thereby had the opportunity to explore Calais at my leisure for several days. This lovely old barn was along a dirt side road, positioned high against the horizon, atop rolling hills, with a view of Vermont’s Green Mountain Range and the setting sun. I came here for several sunsets that week, and this one was the most majestic. I love how “Vermonty” this scene is. When I am traveling far and wide, it’s like a little touch of home (I was born and raised in Vermont).
